Description

A pleasant life environment
Limousin is really just one big natural park. You can admire Limousin's exceptionnal diversity of flora and fauna on foot, horseback or cross-country bikes. The limousin also is an angler's paradise. Its abundant fresh water ways are suitable for all levels of fishermen.

L'art de la table
The region provides many of the ingredients which make up its wholesome cuisine. Besides its excellent, word-famous beef, the Boeuf Limousin, the wondrous walnut and the Limousin's apple have their labels of authenticity. So you can be seen another face of the region by driving along the fruit apple trail or the Route de la Noix.

Remembering the Resistance
Limousin people paid very dearly their lives during both world wars. The region was also an important resistance centre during World War II, and has several museums to recount this unforgettable chapter of history.

Limoges, region's capital
Its international reputation for porcelaine notwithstanding, Limoges is particularly French city, surprisingly untouched by the ever-growing presence of foreigners in the region - a city nowadays renowned for its electrical and high-tech industries

A region that is becoming increasingly attractive
The migration surplus has increased significantly to reach an average of 4,300 people a year over the recent period. From 1999 to 2005, annual population growth due to migration places the Limousin sixth in the rankings of French regions in terms of demographic attractiveness, just behind the southern regions.
